Sunday after church we went to the wedding of Eric's youngest brother Darren and our new sister-in-law Karen. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and a very sweet ceremony. We are excited to take Max and go back to the gardens to spend a day as it was sooo beautiful and reminded me of being back home in California. Here are a few pics

My Handyman Hubby

I found a great little chandelier light for the kitchen to replace the ugly builder light so I took a chance and bought it on clearance in the hopes that I could convince my hubby to put it up. Eric has never done electrical work before but he took the challenge and he is a STAR! He installed it Saturday with no fires or explosions and no injuries! I am so lucky to have such a sweet hubby who loves a challenge and who try anything at least once!

Did I mention lately how much I love living in a small, quaint little town? The City of Roanoke put on a day at the little city park with the Easter Bunny. There were games, food, a train, bounce houses, and of course the main attraction! Max liked the Easter Bunny but I think he liked the cotton candy the best....just like his mommy!

Myt Latest Little Craft projects

I try to spend a little time each day doing something "crafty" because it is therapy for me. It makes me happy and gives me a peaceful feeling. These are some of my latest little projects. The chipboard letter "N" is just covered with scrapbook paper and some ribbon. This idea came from my friend Marji. She has an "A" in her house that she did and I have always loved it! The vinyl quote on the board was another quick little project. I love the quote and I painted the board my favorite green! I re-did the fireplace mantle with a smaller mirror and I already had everything else except the decorative metal finial on the right end. I got this on clearance at Hobby Lobby because it was a little scratched but it worked out perfectly for me to distress it and then add some antique stain to it. Finally, I did the grouping on the kitchen table. I found the glass apothecary jars at an estate sale for $1.00 and .50 cents each and I already had the fun things to fill them with. My friend Yvonne gave me the white ceramic rooster. None of these projects are anything spectacular but they were fun to put together!

Max's First Haircut

Max got his first haircut today and he was such a good boy! I was so afraid getting it cut would take away all his curls but it actually made it curlier! He looks like a little boy....all grown up!

Apparently he LOVES fresh blueberries!

For a snack the other day I gave Max some fresh blueberries. Just a few to start to see if he liked them and well.....I gave him a few and then set the container on the counter (where I thought he could not reach it) and ran to the bathroom. When I came back, he had eaten the entire container, minus a few on his tray. Thankfully, he did not have any allergic reaction and he did not get sick. Guess we can add blueberries to his list of favorite snacks! Gotta love this kid :o)

Great Ribbon Hanger

What to do with those old "slack" hangers......recycle them into a ribbon hanger/keeper! I have been keeping all my ribbon spools in boxes but this is a great new idea! I could not find the hangers without the "sponge/foam" on them but it was easy to take off and whalaaaa! NOw only about 4 more boxes of ribbon to go.....I kind of have a fettish, when I see it on sale, I buy it. A girl can never have too many spools of beautiful ribbon :o)

Mr. Fix-It

So, what do you do when your car breaks down.....you fix it! Max "crashed" his school bus so he decided he would try and fix it himself. I decided to let him have a screwdriver for just a minute and I figured if he was supervised he could not do much harm. He had a ball and it kept him entertained for 1/2 an hour so hey......it was a win/win deal and besides....he was so darn cute!

I Love These Little Moments

It's the simple things that bring my heart so much joy!

This kid is truly the joy of our lives. The simple little things he does just light up our world and he is learning so many things. He loves to wave and pretend he is leading the music in church and Eric taught him how to blow kisses! He has quite a personality and is so smart it blows us away sometimes. We can't even remember what life was like without him. How grateful we are to Heavenly Father for blessing us with such a sweet spirit!

New furniture and wall decor

With our tax refund this year we paid some accounts off and we were able (with some bartering and a little cash) to get some new leather furniture and an accent chair. There is a leather chair coming but it's on backorder until April but we love our comfy new couch! I traded my old round end tables for the black distressed ones and of course since the furniture changed, I had to change the decor to go along with it! I did this wall decor for a steal! I got the plate rack and frames at Hobby Lobby on clearance because they were a little banged up, but since I was going to distress them it was perfect. I already had the big frame, the vinyl, and the metal stars so the whole thing cost about $7.00! I love me a good bargain!!!!

Cutest Bag and Wallet!

My niece Ashley has a company called Babybug Creations and one of the things she makes is these cute bags and matching wallets! This is mine and I ABSOLUTELY love it! She does a professional job and you get to pick the fabrics. She sells on Kongo, Etsy and her Babybug Creations blog.
