Burlap Wreath

This was so easy to make and it only took me about 20 minutes! Watch out Martha Stewart...I am on a roll (hee hee)

$3.00 homemade blanket

In the last month or so Max has decided he loves to have a blanket with him wherever he goes so I made this one for only $3.00! I got the patchwork scrap for $3.00 at the fabric store because it was at the end of a bolt and then I used a flannel receiving blanket for the other side that I already had. He loves the different soft and fuzzy textures! I love bargains!

I finally finished my craft/sewing room...for now! It is nice to have everything organized in the amoire (thanks Kristin and Nathan!) so that I have more workspace. I dream of someday having custom-made cabinets and workspace but for now this is great!

Our Little Man

Max was sooo cute at church yesterday! He wore his dress shirt, suspenders and a tie. One of our friends asked where his job interview was :o) He is our little man!

Mr. sock monkey! He loves to go around the house with a pair of socks in his mouth!

Fun Times!!

We went to the park for playgroup and Max had a ball! He loved the slide and the swing and his friend Anna (she was in Eric's primary class) was happy to help him out! He loves to get into the cabinets under the TV stand and pull out all the DVD's. You can see his crazy hair in the picture of him playing with his toys! I can't bring myself to trim it because I don't want to cut his curls. You can see how tall he is standing next tot he kitchen counter -- he is getting so big! I can't believe how the time has flown by. 2 more months and he will be in nursery at church!

My other little project.....

My friend Yvonne came up with this one. I took a $5.00 fram from WalMart, drilled holes and the top for ribbon, and inserted a piece of burlap I stamped with my favorite Fleur De Lis stamp. WaaaaLaaaaa... Use a dry-erase marker and you have a message board! I use mine for "lists" and reminder notes! Sooooo Easy!

I bought this kitchen island a while back off of Craigslist (only $30.00!) and I loved it but..... the color was not quite right. It was kind of a bright orangey-red which did not really go in my kitchen so I decided to paint it my favorite green. It turned out pretty well but I wanted to kind of "age" it a little so I sanded the edges to bring through a little of the old color. My next house will have a built in Island!!!!!

Brrrrr......Baby it's Cold Outside!

It has been unseasonably cold here in Texas the last couple of weeks! We have been staying inside as much as possible but this morning Max had his 15 month checkup so we bundled up and away we went! He weighed in at 27.5 pounds (90% tile), He is 34 1/2 inches tall (99% tile) and he is right on track to becomming our little giant! the doctor said he is just going to be a very tall boy! Hmm.... do ya think???? Anyway, as usual, he was a little trooper through my probably excessive bundling up (it was only 14 degrees outside and it was windy!) and the 2 shots he had to get. This little guy truly is the joy of our lives!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!

Max decided that he is a big boy and he should not have to sit on the floor to watch his shows. I bought this little antique chair years ago and recently painted it black and put Max's name on it. I had it in the corner of the family room behind the couch and he knew it was there, but never touched it....until today. I had to move it back away from the TV a little bit but now when he watches his DVD's he has to have his chair!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is what Max looks like when he stays up until 1 a.m. on New Years Eve! Tired, grumpy and I don't want any stinkin' crackers :o) I love that he is so expressive!
